The illustrator Viktoria Cichoń (Vikunia) has designed her picture as a poster. You can get creative with us and colour it yourself and take it home! Vikunia has been working as a freelance illustrator in Berlin since 2014, focusing on characters and their stories. She is inspired by the big city, personal experiences and political movements.

After the introduction of the homosexual law in 2013 Nikita A. Trachtenberg Zhukovskiy aka DJ Holden Cumfield left Moscow. He now lives in Berlin as a media artist. Questions of identity, subjective perceptions and security in public and private spaces are at the center of his work.

The Krank (b. 1988 Greece) will be exhibiting four large-scale paintings accompanied by a live painting performance on the theme of City of Refuge Berlin. The artworks draw inspiration from the artist's family history as refugees and his grandfather's experience fleeing from the Greco-Turkish War in 1921 and seeking refuge in Greece as a child.

You hear different languages on every corner in Berlin – whether in bars, in schools, at the greengrocer's or on the banks of the canal. This diversity shapes the character of the city: bilingualism is part of everyday life. The thematic tour focuses on some of Berlin's most widely spoken languages and explores their current and historical references to forced migration.

The initiative Rapper* ohne Grenzen e.V. creatively supports young refugees in Berlin. In the workshops, young people learn German by writing rap lyrics themselves and making music together. Kompass MC presents the project and performs with us.

The ensemble was founded by refugee professional musicians from Ukraine in Germany. The quartet became the leading ensemble in exile, performing in prestigious concert halls. The project also includes music lessons for refugee children, humanitarian aid and support for refugee professional musicians.

Marina Sherstnova (piano) and Yevhen Abin (saxophone) lived in Kiev before the Russian war of aggression began and fled to Berlin in March 2022. The two met in Berlin and have been performing together regularly ever since. Let yourself be "jazzed"!
