SOUNDS DIFFERENT: Kultursommerfestival@Long Night of Museums

The Long Night of Museums is turning it up! This year, the Kultursommerfestival is a partner of the Long Night of Museums and will transform the area around Schlossplatz, the Lustgarten and the Colonnade Courtyard into one huge open-air stage with a multi-faceted programme of music and performance. The musical acts will be wandering from south to north over the course of the afternoon and evening, starting at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music and ending with a DJ set in the Colonnade Courtyard outside the Pergamon Museum. The musical acts include the Stegreif Orchester, N.U. Unruh (Einstürzende Neubauten), Mitsune and others bringing us the sounds of the city!

The Stegreif Orchester will be playing to start things off in the Lustgarten and Joe Chialo, Senator for Culture and Social Cohesion, will be welcoming the night owls on the steps of the Altes Museum (Old Museum). Everyone is cordially invited to be there and join in!

Service

The Long Night of Museums Service Centre is on the road in front of the Berliner Dom (Berlin Cathedral) between the music programme locations. It will give you a chance to take a break from your nightly revels and museum visits, enjoy some street food and a drink, and watch the busy world go by to the soundtrack of music from the 80s and 90s playing from the van of our media partner, rbb 88.8.

The Service Centre is also a great place to arrange to meet up, whether right at the start of the Long Night, in between visits or later on in the evening. It’s also where you can get the flyer with a map showing all participating museums or get tips and recommendations from our information booth. This is a great place to set out from, too, for instance strolling across to the Nikolaiviertel or taking the U5 that runs between Lichtenberg and the Hauptbahnhof (Main Train Station). Or why not pick up a bicycle, e-bike or scooter from the Jelbi stand? Just show your Long Night ticket there to claim your € 10 voucher for the Jelbi app.
